VALLEY LABOUR & PROPERTY SERVICES

Service Terms

Updated October 17, 2026

These terms explain how we arrange work. Your written estimate sets out the details for your particular job. We provide the relevant terms with your estimate for approval; simply visiting this website does not book work or accept a service contract.

Estimates and agreed work

Every property is different. We usually provide an estimated cost range based on the service, amount of work, size of the area and information supplied. Your estimate explains the work included, any exclusions and known additional costs, including materials, travel or disposal where applicable. An estimate is not a fixed-price quote unless we expressly identify it as one.

We charge fairly for the work actually completed. If the actual cost is below our estimate, your invoice reflects that. HST is included on every invoice. Your written estimate will explain how tax is treated and show the expected amount payable.

Additional work and unexpected conditions

Work outside the original estimate costs extra. If you request additional work, or we discover conditions that change the scope or likely cost, we will discuss the change and obtain your approval before proceeding. We may pause affected work while those details are agreed.

Requests and scheduling

A quote or service request does not reserve a date or automatically book our calendar. We confirm the scope, estimate and appointment with you directly. Weather, access, safety conditions and earlier jobs can affect timing; we will communicate changes and arrange another date when needed.

Deposits and materials

A deposit may be required for larger projects, material-heavy work, or some new-client bookings. Your estimate states the deposit amount, when it is needed and any conditions that apply before you approve the work. We do not require you to pay an unstated deposit. Payments received are credited toward your invoice.

Before ordering special or non-returnable materials, we will agree on the purchase and explain any cancellation or return costs. A deposit is not automatically non-refundable. If work is cancelled, we will account for payments, work already completed and approved material commitments, and return any balance owed to you, subject to applicable consumer rights.

Cancellations and rescheduling

We do not charge a cancellation fee. Please let us know as soon as possible if plans change. Payment for work already completed and any approved material commitments is separate from a cancellation fee; we will explain any such costs and reconcile your deposit. If we cannot complete your job, we will discuss the work already done and any refund due for work not provided.

Access and safe working conditions

Please provide the access and instructions agreed for the job, secure pets and identify relevant hazards, fragile items, utilities or other conditions you know about. We may decline or pause work that cannot be performed safely or is outside the agreed scope. For demolition, any required permissions, permits and utility arrangements must be confirmed before work begins.

Junk removal and clutter cleanouts

These services cover agreed ordinary household belongings and rubbish. You must be authorized to arrange removal and confirm which items may be taken. We do not handle hazardous materials or contaminated waste, including sharps, human or animal waste, or mould remediation. Disposal arrangements and fees are confirmed in your estimate. We assess heavily cluttered spaces individually and may recommend an appropriate specialist.

Invoices and payment

We accept e-transfer, cash, cheque, and debit or credit at your door. We normally send a one-day job’s invoice at the end of the day, or a multi-day job’s invoice when the work is complete. Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice, unless we’ve agreed to different terms in advance. For projects that span multiple weeks, we send progress invoices on Fridays for the work completed so far. Any staged billing or different payment arrangement will be agreed before work begins. Deposits and other payments already made are deducted from the balance.

Balances unpaid more than 30 days after the due date may be subject to interest of 1.5% per month (18% annually, not compounded), where agreed before work begins. Interest applies to the unpaid invoice balance, not to previously charged interest. Additional work is not normally scheduled while an account has an overdue balance.

We believe in clear, upfront pricing and will communicate costs, any deposit requirements and payment expectations before work begins.

Questions about the work

If something does not match the agreed work, tell us promptly so we can review it and work toward a fair solution. Contact admin@valleylabour.ca or 902-532-5077.

Your rights and personal information

These terms do not remove any rights or remedies you have under applicable consumer protection law. Applicable Nova Scotia and Canadian law continues to apply. Any changes to an approved job’s terms must be agreed with you; updates to this website do not retroactively change your agreement.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. Marketing consent and public use of identifiable job photos are separate from approval of your service estimate.
